im sorry if i come off salty or aggro, i've had several bad experiences with "influencers" of the age to "grow up" on tumblr turning fandom into something they get to point and laugh at as they grow out of it, i do actually think there is a lot to be gained from cross generational fandom experience

I didn't know that so thank you for informing me, i have largely seen it weaponized by literal children who should really have their internet supervised more carefully, but i also know that soc med has done a lot of damage in the way of "i'm not appropriating aave, that's internet slang"

by "fandom olds" i find it disrespectful to pretend that fandom is some new thing born out of tumblr, the housewives writing kirk/spock fic and swapping it with each other through the mail would be horrified

the idea that "old" people don't belong in fandom is something that has only sprung up in the last handful of years since social media made it more accessible and franchises like mcu made fandom more socially acceptable. im not trying to be an asshole, but as someone who was practically kept alive
