Occasional reminder that the Department of Homeland Security was created post-9/11 as a way to shield certain departments from scrutiny while they make all of our lives worse, and ICE was formed about the same time, and was always meant to be an immigration secret police.

I personally don't believe half of those jobs actually exist, especially considering that, if they did *hire* 177,000 people, that would have an impact on the unemployment rate that would be rounded up to 0.1%, which, ope, wouldja look at that... quelle surprise.
