Merry Christmas 🤍 ❄️ 🎅

As parents of trans, non-binary and gender-diverse children and adults, we know how much it matters for trans people to feel safe, seen and valued, especially at this time of year.

Sending warmth to all trans+ people who deserve dignity, joy and love.

Everyone should have access to timely, respectful and evidence-based care that meets their individual needs. For trans and non-binary people, this means healthcare grounded in internationally recognised standards and delivered without stigma or delay

Our children should be able to join in with friends, study without fear, apply for jobs, travel safely and access public services without prejudice. The rights that protect everyone must protect them clearly and consistently.

This is not a special request. It is equal treatment.

Trans+ people deserve to live, learn and work without being singled out or treated unfairly. As parents of trans+ people, we've seen how discrimination creates barriers in school, healthcare, housing and in everyday public life. It pushes people out of opportunities that others take for granted.

Parents know how important it is for their children to have a secure foundation.

Legal recognition is part of that foundation. It protects trans and non-binary people in daily life and reduces opportunities for discrimination, delay or doubt.
December 12, 2025 at 10:16 AM
Legal recognition should be straightforward and accessible, not a long or demeaning process that heightens vulnerability.

This includes recognising non-binary people in law so no one is left unseen or excluded.
December 12, 2025 at 10:16 AM
Our 2nd Transparent Pledge point is legal recognition.

Everyone should be able to live confidently as themselves with documents that reflect who they are.

For our children, and all trans+ people, this is about safety, privacy and the freedom to move through life without unnecessary barriers...

We want this respect for our own young and adult children, and we want it for every trans and non-binary person.

Parents of trans people of all ages are invited to join us by signing the Transparent Pledge. Add your name to help us speak with one united voice in support of dignity for all.

This principle matters because respect is the starting point for everything else.

It shapes how teachers speak to our children in classrooms, how employers treat trans+ staff, and how journalists and politicians talk about our families. It influences whether our children feel valued or targeted.
December 10, 2025 at 9:00 AM
Today we are sharing the first of the 7 principles of our Transparent Pledge: Respect and dignity.

Every person deserves to be recognised for who they are and to be treated with kindness. As parents, we see how transformative it is when our children are called by their correct names and pronouns.
December 10, 2025 at 9:00 AM
This is what exclusion looks like - It is a door closing on a child who only wanted to take part like everyone else.

Our children should have a place to belong. They should be able to join clubs, activities and community groups without barriers, fear or uncertainty.

🤍 We stand with every family affected by the Girlguiding policy change

What happened to this young girl is not an abstract policy debate. It's a child who was excited to be part of Rainbows with her friends, tried her sessions, loved them, was ready to join. Now she's been told she doesn't belong.
December 10, 2025 at 1:47 AM
🤍 We stand with this parent and every family who feels let down by the decision of Girlguiding to exclude trans members.

This person has given years of their time, energy and leadership to Girlguiding.
December 7, 2025 at 9:49 AM
Decisions like this have real consequences, and they fall hardest on the children who already face the most barriers.

Many leaders and volunteers did not want this. They value inclusion and want every child to feel part of their community.
December 5, 2025 at 11:24 AM
Parents with decades of experience in these organisations know that trans girls are not a danger, and excluding children who simply want to join their friends makes no sense.

Children should never be told they are not welcome in the same activities their classmates enjoy.
December 5, 2025 at 11:23 AM
🤍 We stand with the parents who are speaking out against the Girlguiding rollback on trans inclusion.

Guiding and Scouting have always been places where children find friendship, confidence and belonging. That is why this decision feels so painful for so many families.

Today’s announcement from Girlguiding to reverse their previous trans-inclusive policy will come as painful news for many families.

We know GirlGuiding has worked for years to include trans girls and to offer them the same opportunities as their peers.

The article claimed that the BBC’s representation of trans people has “damaged” children.

As parents of trans young people and adults, we felt it was important to offer another perspective from the ones they typically publish.

Our children have not been harmed by seeing themselves represented.
