vaccuum table would be hype af, but would take money/time to get working. not sure how it’d work w/ fabric since it wouldn’t be able to like “seal”.
drawing on fabric is possible but a lot harder to dial in (due to like dragging/bunching up if tension/flatness is off).

drag knife for sure is possible for paper but you need a compatible holding method (tacky spray would work). not really compatible for fabric tho, better off cutting by hand w/ pattern

yeah! hold-downs is the main thing. also some backing material. ideally a cutting mat, but maybe stiff foam? tacky spray works for holding, but then you got sticky paper. pins might work?

i’m planning on trying to use the CNC as a marker plotter and draw sewing patterns w/ it. there’s some kinks but if it works we could do up to like 4’ x 4’! i’d be glad to draw some up for you ✨

did this a little when i had an rsi thing! there’s some cool optimizations you can do by making up/overriding words, like using “lap” and “rap” for left paren/right paren. your brain gets used to it really quick. there’s a video somewhere of a guy who did a lot of this but i have no idea where lol

let me know if you figure it out! i’ve just been asking friends for recs, which gets me some really cool stuff, but it’s not exactly reliable (and requires repeatedly asking for effort from friends)
