it's not a scientific paper or anything! it's more what the average person or laymen would expect. a lot of species listed together or assumed to be related arent due to how people submitted them in the past surveys and i am but one person with limited time to sift through and clean up entries!

2023 had over 10000 participants.

Data is manually input in the results sheet as it needs to be cleaned up first (removing humans, tidying things like typos in species entered via other, etc) and doesnt refect current count until it's closed. right now there's over 2000 entries in under 24 hours!

also wolf/ fox hybrids have been super popular in past surveys! there's a significant number of them so they get separated out into their own. same with wolfdog!

just out of pure curiosity! i find it fascinating how trends change over time in species popularity! and can also help folks like artists who want to make more unusual species adopts or want to see what would be most likely to sell well! or for anything folks wanna use it for really!
