#82 - New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt

I think this might be even better than season 1. It genuinely felt like this series never went away for 15 years. Can't wait for season 3 in another 15 years

#81 - One Battle After Another

"You wanna make some bacon?" -Brennan Lee Mulligan

This movie was excellent. A lot of really solid laughs. I was surprised by the action cause I don't think this director is known for action. Liked a lot of the performances. It has an energy to it that doesn't stop.

#80 - Kill Blue

I'm genuinely surprised this didn't get axed in its first year of publishing. But I didn't hate what I was reading cause I thought the action was pretty well choreographed at points.

#79 - Pearl

I was kind of disappointed in this movie outside of Mia Goth's performance. She has a really good monologue right at the end but it always felt like it was meandering until each death. And the deaths felt weak anyway. I might watch X and call it at that.

#78 - Battle Royale

This one's really interesting. Like the obvious point of comparison is Hunger Games cause of how much that took from this movie wholesale. But with that in mind, I think this movie has a lot more bite to it. It's so well directed, I was really interested in this cast.

#77 - Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

The J'RPG was a really great game. It wears all of its inspirations on its sleeve and it helps that I already loved all of those to begin with. While I loved the battle mechanics, the story is gonna stick with me the most for the longest time.

#76 - The Crow

God damn this movie's really cool. I really liked just about every action set piece. My only complaint would be that at some points, it felt like they were writing as they went, specifically with the mind reading bit. But other than that, really fun movie.

#75 - Kamen Rider Gavv

Easily the best Reiwa era Rider. It didn't feel like it was juggling a bunch of plates like other Reiwa series. I liked a lot of the choreography and prod. design. And I really enjoyed the cast of this throughout. It reminded me a lot of Build, one of my favorites.

#74 - Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow

I don't read enough comics but this might be one of the best I've ever read. The art, themes, and characterization, especially Kara's, are all near perfect. I'm really excited if this is what we're getting in next year's Supergirl movie.

#73 - Blade Runner

I really wished I liked this a lot more. Production design is absolutely phenomenal in this movie, by far the best part of the movie. But I didn't really care for any character or the overall mystery. Maybe I'll like 2049 a lot more but the original doesn't do it for me.

See I read it before I watched the movie on Tuesday and thought about how you hit the nail on the head after I finished lol.

#72 - Big

Really neat, whimsical little movie...

As long as you gloss over the *gross* implications.

#71 - Brazil

Actual near perfect movie. The production design might be some of the best I've seen in any movie. It feels like the chaotic evil version of Playtime, just more sinister and twisted. The MC's downfall was fascinating to go through. When you think there's a valley, something explodes.

#70 - War of the Worlds (2025)

Peak dogshit. Get some friends and watch it together.

#69 - Weapons

I loved the tension in the first half. But I also loved how Cregger always has those reminders that he was on Whitest Kids U' Know. I also loved how the movie was structured. The cast is also firing on all cylinders. Resident Evil really is in the safest hands.

Might be December or early next year

It genuinely feels the closest to an 80s comedy being made today.

#68 - The Naked Gun (2025)

It's been a long time since I saw the original movie but they managed to make a legacy sequel that's just as good, if not better than the original movie. Liam Neeson absolutely needs to do more comedy roles.

#67 - Donkey Kong Bananza

Might be the best platformer Nintendo's made since Galaxy 1. DK skyrocketed to being one of my favorite characters to play as in any game. My one complaint was the early bosses felt easy but that got fixed later through the playthrough. Might be game of the year for me.

#66 - The Fantastic Four: First Steps

This movie was pretty good. It's nice to see a Marvel movie that didn't look like a CBS special. I liked most of the Four's performances but I think I need to see more of Pedro as Reed to sell me on it. Great marvel movie, fine movie overall.

#65 - It's a Summer Film!

Really fun and cute movie all around. It has a really nice energy to it that keeps it from feeling like a drag. I also really enjoyed the cast in this movie. Overall, a really good debut for this director.

#64 - Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt (Season 1)

Really should've watched this sooner but the new season coming out reminded me to catch up. It's an insane love letter to western animation and adult swim. Sure there are plenty of bits that make me groan but I had a lot of fun with this one.
