And also, going back to my first point - there's literally no proof that any actor was paid. But there is proof that Embark have used gen AI to replace voice actors.

At the end of the day it boils down to a very justified lack of trust.

Embark is already known for their use of gen AI specifically with in their game The Finals.

If there's controversy surrounding a game and devs are claiming that everything is above board, they should probably prove it given the existent lack of trust they've already generated themselves.

To be fair, there's not a single actor credited and there's no proof at all that any professional voice actors were hired.
