I'm pretty sure most of the people who write for The Onion are ex-marketing/PR employees who toiled in that environment for years and developed all sorts of resentments from it before pivoting to writing comedy. I recognize a lot of their jokes from my time in that field lol

It also pairs well with the ongoing bullshittification of our jobs which increasingly don't require a 40 hour workweek. Automation, AI, etc. Gonna need some mechanism to offset those trends while allowing people the income they need to survive.

Every President going back to the 1950s has used an autopen at times. Previous to that many Presidents used stamped signatures and the like. Guys fucking delusional if he thinks that will stand up in court.

It's a backdoor consumption tax - a long held goal of the upper 1% to reduce their tax burden and throw it all on the lower classes who spend a higher proportion of their income on consumption goods. They know it would never fly as an actual proposal so this is how they're getting around that.

I'm only on X because I play fantasy football and it's good for that content but I get plenty of political BS in my feed. It's absolutely obvious how it's nothing but a propaganda tool - especially the right wing talking points which you can watch being disseminated and copied in real time

Well currently on X they're trying to pin this one on the "Seditious Six" and pinning it on "Democrat violence" in general by drawing parallels to the Charlie Kirk murder. It's pretty sick shit over there atm
