A couple of things, . . . Everyone responds to critical analysis differently; some people are inspired, while others are frozen by it. Being tough on people is worthless if the result is not helping them expand possibilities. It's important to meet people where they are.

One of my goals as an instructor is not to be as bad as that teacher was. I understand the challenge of a larger classroom of students, but it's important to explain one's criticism so it sinks in properly.
