The cost for premiums increased nearly every year during my career. It’s an insane system. I live now in Portugal and here everyone has access to healthcare. I ran a very high fever and my wife took me to the hospital emergency room. Examined, treated and given a prescription. 65 euros, about $70.

Well said, and I would add one thing. Why in the world is American healthcare tied to employment? It probably once benefited employers, but now it’s a logistical and administrative nightmare for them. We have an excellent option, make Medicare available for everyone.

You’re likely a troll, but I will respond to your ignorance. So far Trump’s concept of a plan is to give Americans $2,000 to cover their healthcare needs. Anyone who’s ever been to the hospital knows just how ridiculous that is. So no, this isn’t what Americans voted for.

It was worse than weak. It was cowardly and completely lacking morals. ‘Things happen’, he said about the murder and dismemberment of one of your colleagues. What’s weak is the Washington Post’s response to the president and his vile guest.

I live in Portugal where 90% of energy production comes from renewable sources. The US is an outlier, completely run by oil companies.

There’s a tiny, almost impossible to see part of me that is sort of amazed, and if I’m being honest, in awe of their crazed creativity. I mean, migrants herding diseases cattle across the Mexico/United States border. That is incredible, in the actual meaning of the word. I’m agog.

I’m just a regular guy, but it does seem that the oligarchs are absolutely bent on destroying democracy. These entitled, condescending a-holes need to be brought down a peg or two. How to do it? Tax them at rates commensurate with their wealth.

In his post on his failed social media site he said congress will get all the files to which they are ‘legally entitled.’ That’s the caveat he plans on using to hide his involvement.

This guy is a physician. He knows $2,000, or whatever it is won’t pay for healthcare in the United States. He’s not stupid, he’s worse. He is a shameless liar defending other equally shameless liars. The GOP deserves to be burned to the ground.
