Heather did her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Chicago before returning back to Canada.

In 2022, temporary foreign workers made up 3% of the workforce in ambulatory health care services, 1.2% in hospitals & 4.9% in nursing/residential care facilities. It's even higher in home healthcare, where they accounted for 7.9% of workers.

Fiona brings much experience with TREC, having previously served as Calgary based Regional Project Coordinator for several years.

Fiona also worked in Pediatrics, leading knowledge mobilization initiatives aimed at translating research into practice to improve outcomes for children and families.

Ashikur (Ash) Rahman successfully completed his PhD candidacy exam on June 24, 2025. Ash is one of Dr. Estabrooks’ students and is studying compassion fatigue and burnout among care aides in LTC homes.
