Spoke to a rejected asylum seeker today who is appealing. I can't go into details for obvious reasons but the horrific shit that happened to this woman since she was 9 years old, it is just baffling that anyone could read her application and deny it.

A few years ago I was taking antibiotics for an infection and on the small print that came with the medicine read that this particular antibiotic can also be used to treat bubonic plague. Really quite humbling how lucky we are to live in the age we do.

Class in England (and to a lesser extent the rest of the UK) is its own complicated beast with a lot of history behind it.

I do think we need to talk about class more in the UK. We *always* need to look at things intersectionally but sometimes when we talk about class in relation to other forms of oppression we mean who has money right now, which isn't quite right.
