the questions the story raises are uncomfortable:
Why the hell aren't we doing anything to stop Ru? Why is Europe not introducing a sky shield over Ukrainian cities? Why are we going through the motions of doomed "peace talks" instead of punishing Ru's warmongering?

I would just add that in Europe we have lived through the entire cycle of fascism and the trail of blood and destruction it leaves in its wake. We know its methods and excuses, and what we see and read about the USA reveals a very advanced stage in the establishment of a fascist dictatorship.
