My boy now has three speeds mapped to controller input. Gliding, flapping hard and just plain-old-cruisy flapping...

Re-watched the OG Police Academy movie tonight. Despite the fact everyone in it is fictionally an aspiring cop, I'm surprised how well it's held up. Racism, sexism, homophobia, fat-shaming all centre stage, but every underdog gets a big win in the end and the only real losers are the RWNJs in power.

Why is it that in every game engine, the default wood materials get end-grain and-edge grain so mixed up? It's been this wrong for 30 years now! Just run the face and edge grain along the long faces, and the end grain across the narrow width of the short faces. Like, come on!
In game door architrave where there's end-grain where there should be side grain and vice-versa.

We've uninvented plenty. That's why we still have an ozone layer.

I definitely don’t worship it, but I am a pragmatist about learning how to use technologies that can’t be uninvented before they use us.

history teacher in 50 years: So in September, that’s when the president signed an executive order criminalizing anti-fascism and saying all resistance would be crushed

student: oh so that’s when the whole country realized they were living under fascism

teacher: haha what? oh no lol not at all. no.

Hey Bluesky! I figured it would be a good time to show off the game I've been working on for a little while.

I'm sorry students, but your grades will only be 57% accurate.
I'm sorry client, but your costing will only be 57% accurate.
I'm sorry boss, but our estimates will only be 57% accurate.

What even is the point of this? Who does this serve?

Absolutely been said before but if you’ve got an AI agent that is 57% accurate you have an AI agent that is 0% accurate

The end of MIGW is usually the turning point. Let's see if the energy produced by thousands of co-located nerds can finally make Spring and Summer happen here in 2025...🤞

Hoping this is the last cold snap of the year. I need some T-shirt weather that lasts for more than a day goddammit.

Sad to hear about the passing of the Michelangelo of Movie posters, RENATO CASARO. The Man painted so many iconic posters, specially in the 70s/80s: CONAN, TERMINATOR, DUNE, TOTAL RECALL, DANCE WITH THE WOLVES, BLOW OUT, FLASH GORDON, RAMBO, NEVER-ENDING STORY, and the list goes on and on. 1/2

And leave all that sweet remaster money on the table? Sadly, this work is all that’s keeping a boat load of developers employed right now. Hoping the wave will pass, but surfing it in 2025 is keeping lights on all over the place…

We dropped used car money today and had our 1970s window frames (so many windows!) retrofitted with double glazing. Feels really different in here already. Fingers crossed for cooler summers and warmer winters…
