I asked astounded and terrified.
The two women just looked at each other, now also terrified, sort of like they'd made a terrible mistake.
Both of them looked directly at me, faces clear as day, forever eblazoned in my memory. One mouthed 'oops'.

The sense of wonder and discovery during World of Warcraft's early days was the most impactful for me.
Doing that with friends, making new friends in game, overcoming the emotional challenges of raiding and evolving as a group is an experience I don't think will be replicated inside a game again.

Though, I do wonder if this site is algorithmically weighted towards positivity in the same way the other site feels weighted towards negativity 😅
