What a stunning waste of money. For 1/5th of that you could link the national rail system to Shannon Airport.

It’s astonishing how little attention the DAA pays to Cork. Just put a rail line in to Shannon and Dublin doesn’t have a traffic issue. If you’re anywhere beyond the M50 it’s faster to fly from Shannon.

If this happens then EV prices jump 10k overnight.

That’s an excellent idea.

Point that the letter is making is that it should be. If you want people to commute by bike you have to help them. Reality currently is that there’s little space, little consideration and no way for people to commute across cities and large roads. I know a guy who commutes to Shannon from Loughrea

People from Sandyford and further south can’t work at the airport then?
June 17, 2025 at 6:12 PM
Distances to work is an issue in Ireland. I’m fortunate in that my commute is in Clare. So while the rain falls horizontal towards you. The roads are relatively quiet. In Dublin you might have to go from Sandyford to the airport. That’s a long way to go. Twice a day. In the rain.

If it’s that clear educate them. Help people.
June 17, 2025 at 12:50 PM
And in fairness I was saying there’s empty bike lanes because it’s feckin’ miserable cycling in the rain and then sitting wet clothes all day or getting back into wet clothes in the evening.
June 17, 2025 at 12:11 PM
I admire your fortitude. I sit at a desk all day. I carry a laptop home with me. I need to carry my lunch with me. Coffee & Water.

I’ve sat in rain wet pants. I’d need a backpack / panniers. Pants, rain shoes, a good rain coat. I have a beard. So a towel is also needed. These all need to be dried.

Okay. So define in your letter’s terms. “Better cycling infrastructure?” If it’s definite and measurable and real then maybe I can understand and empathise. But saying we need better infrastructure means all I’m hearing is more cycle lanes. And there’s plenty of those already not being used.
June 16, 2025 at 9:40 PM
Gear should be in the grants. I know where I work that my bike would be in an open area. I’d have to bag the seat. Which would lead to mildew. The gear would have to be left in a bathroom or a shower where other people then would have issues with it. Infrastructure isn’t just cycle lanes.
June 16, 2025 at 9:18 PM
I’ve struggled with how to discuss this..But..You know how it rains in Ireland..Quite a bit like? It’s not pleasant or feasible to cycle in the cold rain. People will also need proper facilities where they’re heading to ensure that they can clean up and stow wet gear and wet bikes and get them dry.

They’re finger cots. They protect both the pages and the fingers. Easier on the skin than gloves.

VHI is effectively the HSE's accounts dept. They serve NO purpose other than to remove money from the system and funnel it to consultants and hospitals via the VHI. Every person in the country should get free "VHI top plan" universal healthcare. It could be afforded too just from general taxation.

They’re special screws. But Amazon will have the right tips to undo them. But if it’s under apple care then bring it to a shop or ring them if you aren’t.

Sounds like a faulty fan mind. You just check if there’s fan errors in console logs to see if you can see any error codes. There’s people far more qualified than me that can guide. But please don’t use compressed air until you’ve completely powered down the laptop and disconnected the battery.
February 24, 2025 at 8:16 PM
Oh please don’t spray compressed air into it. That’ll just cause you more problems. With condensation causing short circuits and rust. You need to either take it apart and remove any fluff etc AFTER removing the battery connectors then cleaning using a brush or a vacuum or air as a last resort

Nobody will ever use this. Don't forget you're seeing this as an edited video. So the inflatable arm wavy thing and the weird 2.5d legs are going to be even more odd in real-time.The floor doesn't look to be touching the chairs. They're "floating". Plus... the script "that is bad." "it's the wifi".

There’s a live version of the whole album from Paris that’ll take your breath. Might be on a special edition? It’s more intense and darker than the LP version.

Just check your wedges and you’ll be fine. Helps if you’re always carrying a small package of your own laundry.
