Been using computers since they were 8 bits. Generally like those and 16 bits better than what we use today. Have too many games and too little time […]

I wonder if the end of MTV also means the end of MTV content on Pluto TV. Sometimes I like putting on one of the streams. Currently watching some old Unplugged shows.

I wonder if it is just an effect of old hardware, but boy, the new @elementary OS release is a crashfest on my 2011 Mac Mini. The App Center crashed on me at least 7 times before I had enough and downloaded Zorin (because I’ve also wanted to give that a spin). It looked very nice, though, and […]

Aaah. The near-panic of not being able to find my Aftershokz to fall asleep to.

Sometimes I wish I'd fit in better. A lot of the time, I'm relieved I don't.

One of this year’s home-made Christmas presents made me think of @llamasoft_ox and @gilesgoat for some reason … :D

Violent Night var godt nok en julefilm med rødt i! Meget fin underholdning - og morsom hyldest til Home Alone.

I just fell down a history hole due to how we celebrate Christmas Eve today and how many folks don’t get around to it until tomorrow. It is mildly fascinating and boils down to: Before mechanical watches were a thing, a new day was counted from when the sun went down. So the 25th starts on what […]

Big news for the #fediverse! End-to-end encryption is coming to #activitypub.

@swf with support from @sovtechfund is coordinating two interoperable implementations.

Bonfire is proud to be one of […]

The new Raspberry Pi Connect feature works really, really well. After setting one up for work, it has me rethinking what I want to do with my various pieces of pi-ware at home. The latest Raspberry Pi Imager is a bit of a joke, though. Two different installs for two different machines where it […]

I suppose this must be a coincidence as the C64 is charged in USD, but I was amused to see a charge of 2.999,64 DKK on my card. #commodore

C64 Ultimate Starlight ordered. I wonder if my arcade stick will work with it. So many unknowns with this machine. But at least some of the early review videos answered quite a few of my questions. You’d think a professional YouTuber owning the company would have thought to sit down and really […]

Managed to put the new Pi music player together before leaving work today. Got it set up with remote control and a quick test of playback. Next stop: Speaker mounting and figuring out if I should bet on physical security through obscurity by making it not […]

To me the holidays have always had a mental connection to playing with classic Macs, since as a kid visiting relatives also meant visiting my uncle who had a sweet PowerMac 7100 setup, lots of magazine cover discs to peruse, etc

For my #globaltalk friends […]

Isn’t it fascinating how you still run into on-hold music that breaks up and sounds like it’s played through a 14k4 connection using Realplayer in the year of 2025? Meanwhile you can send better sounding music by simply holding your phone next to a random speaker at a reasonable volume.

Fun bit of shopping tonight. Getting a system ready to deliver some quality background audio at work. Ordered a Pi 5 with a tall case, a Hi-Fi DAC, the active cooler and so on. Looking forward to putting it all together with the new speakers coming in from Thomann.

Ugh. I just finished moving 1.7TB of data from Google to Filen using Filen’s rclone fork. Some of it went fine, but a few files I tried to open failed to do so. Now I doubt the integrity of every file.

I tried the Fedora Atomic Cosmic Desktop iso and it was very impressive. Cosmic is the most responsive UI I’ve used that isn’t called Workbench. Sadly, Steam had some issues with controllers and while it seemed solvable, it didn’t seem like a clean solution. I’m going to miss Cosmic and will […]

@infonauten Er det muligt at sælge ebøger/PDFer med en slags selvdestruerende DRM uden at have server-infrastruktur kørende? F.eks. 12 måneder fra en aktivering.

Nogle kolleger har et lille forlag med fysiske bøger, som er meget billige, men nogle skoler får kun lov at købe digitalt, og alt […]
