It took a 152cm/8kg crowbar to break up the ice at the base of the garage door after more than a week of snow storms with more coming. That’s about 6cm of solid ice covered by another 10cm of hard packed snow. And that was covered by 30cm of loose snow. The garage door now closes properly.

… I picked this up yesterday at my local record shop. I always loved this album. It was so gritty and funky and merged perfectly with so many musical threads at the time. #ontheturntable #vinyl #music

This was a surprise today. I’d forgotten that I’d thought about ordering it weeks ago. It was convenient timing because… #ontheturntable #vinyl #music

Too bad our cats get the fancy pine pellet stuff or I’d be doing that now. :)

I have a small 32-channel home studio in the basement with sound isolation. I now have two extra 24-channel consoles (PreSonus and the Yamaha). My big kit (back) and a small kit I put together for another session.

Rich Brown is a friend and an inspiration. This is not your average electric bass album. I’m so proud to own digital, CD, and a first run vinyl copy of this work! The record arrived today. #ontheturntable #vinyl #music

One of today’s rescues: a Yamaha Electone C-605 (not the child). #yamaha #electricorgan #oldschool

Rockin’ in the studio. I never had lasers when I was five! Or a studio. Or instruments. I think we’d just discovered the wheel and fire!

Good morning! How to enjoy your tea on a Sunday morning while the world goes to shit around you. Even my five year old son can agree on Steely Dan. #ontheturntable #vinyl #music

Bunnies! I still love this phase of Rush’s career. I also popped Roll The Bones on prior to this. The mixes still sound thin, but the songs are still very special to me. #ontheturntable #vinyl #music

I was really feeling this today. And remember, Otto Klemperer was the father of Werner, best known for his role as Col. Klink in Hogan’s Heroes. #ontheturntable #vinyl #music

Morning and afternoon. I’m really ready for a few days without snow squalls. #onstorm #winter #swo #stratfordontario

Stratford has been brutalized the past few days. An ice storm, power outages, flooding, a thunderstorm, a melt and refreeze, and now all that ice is snow-covered. This one annoying band has been snaking back and forth across us for hours. It’s always an adventure in the snow belt.

From this afternoon.

Would you like to trade? In the past 48 hours, we’ve had an ice storm, a 25C temperature swing, thunderstorms, and lake effect snow squalls causing zero visibility.

Gotta work with what I have. :)

Damn it. Inspiration! :)

This colour coding doesn’t make sense to me. It’s yellow, but the impact is high. It’s currently shattering down freezing rain (and has been for hours) so the confidence should be high. Shouldn’t this be red? @davesills.ca, this *is* confusing. I was wrong.

Is it me or have others been seeing a trend with priests and kids? I also noticed that lots of American conservative pastors have been struggling with their sexuality and finances.

I’m pretty sure the application of laws currently on the books could help. Analyzing it, hoping it goes away, or waffling means it grows more roots. Expose it, use Canada’s hate speech laws, and then kick the nest in.

There are some sleepy fish under there. Southwestern Ontario mornings can be beautiful. Too bad they’re covered with snow for almost half the year.
