Why should you do 80/20 training? Because that is the best way to get to the race in the best shape possible and without injury.

If you do this you will end up with overtraining injuries and be over tired on race day. You must include recovery, light days and low heart rate training to avoide these issues.

Cycling uphill in a triathlon is a delicate balance between how hard you go and how long the climb is. We have to remember that you still have to run off the bike and in Ironman that is more important then you can imagine.

Most every well organized triathlon races will have enough water stations on the run course. The question should be how well organized are YOU to take proper advantage of the aid stations.Check out this video to know how to do it

Sighting the buoy is not the best way to go strait in your triathlon or Ironman swim. Sighting something large in the distance that lines up with the buoy is a much better way to sight the correct line.

Don't be afraid of the run in a Sprint Triathlon. With so training you will be able to run or run/walk the distance. The key is to make the decision to race and train for the race. Here is my totally FREE TRIATHLON COURSE to help you along the way

The question What if I don't have a Triathlon Specific Bike to race in triathlon. The answer is Any Bike that is in a conventional Bike position that is in good working order will do.

In a triathlon or Ironman with Split Transitions you will end the bike in a different locations then you started. Pretty much the only difference is your gear will be bagged and not setup like a traditional transition.

Ironman and triathlon races are using SPLIT TRANSITIONS more and more. It opens up more venues to be used. Transporting the bike from checkin to T1 can be an issue if not handled correctly.

When doing a split transition (t1 and t2 in different locations) you will have the clothes and shoe ect that you wore to transition. You will need to put them someplace to be transported back to t2. Here's what you do.

In your transition area for a triathlon the rules state you can't extend your setup past the leading edge of your bike tire. This includes all your gear and bag storage.

If you want to be sure to pack everything you need for your Triathlon the best thing you can do is lay the items you need into each sport and do a mock transition. Only pack items you will use on race day and nothing more
