S'not Shatner's fault the studio didn't pay for ILM like they did for Meyer and Nimoy and Shat had to get his VFX from a guy in New Jersey with a cloud tank...

Shat just needed to back off the Kirk macho by 10%. Let him do the badass thing -- but pay for it in the next scene.

I will defend this movie. Is it great? No. Is it the worst Trek movie? Not even in the bottom 5.

Flawed as it is, Shatner tried to do a heavy character piece with philosophical undertones, political allegory, and social commentary.

So, good Star Trek concepts, problematic execution.

One thing I love about this fan-trailer is how about half of it is actually really well composited and edited, with some shots having near seamless matching of elements; and the other half of the trailer is just sloppily tracking a 2D still of Mark Hamill's head onto something.

Who can forget the sheer joy fans felt when this trailer was released?

Those are the universes with USS ENTERPRISE 1701.

We're headed towards ISS ENTERPRISE 1701.

One day until he declares war on Venezuela?

I just don't think they'll release the files. He knows the Judicial of branch is toothless and has no enforcement mechanism -- SCOTUS inJuctices said that exact thing.

What, is a judge gonna order the FBI to arrest Trump? Like Kash would comply...

USA led by an Alzheimer's-ridden POTUS who supplied arms to our enemies, prided himself in breaking unions and mass-firing federal employees, cut taxes for the super-wealthy, created record debt and deficits, and conducted unwarranted military operations in other countries?

Trump is Regan 2.0.

Ok, this one used Papyrus. Promo graphic for a karaoke company.

(Tech note: 16:9 aspect ratio crop, mic is a 3D model lit to match the plate and hand composited in. Still no AI. Human art.)
December 16, 2025 at 10:07 AM
Not everything Avatar needs to use Papyrus. I didn't.

(now with alt text)

(Tech note: Avatar was 2.35:1 aspect ratio. That's hand painting/compositing/cloning to fill in the top and bottom of the image to make it square. No AI. Human art.)

Twitter is fading, but still huge. The government of El Salvador announced TODAY they're leveraging Grok as a teaching tool and will use it to create their educational syllabi.

And that's not covering half his companies.

And Elon's PERSONAL net worth is greater than 160 of the country's GDPs.
December 15, 2025 at 10:52 AM
And in what fields his companies are in, AND how much influence his companies have in those fields.

Starlink is now literally the biggest ISP on the planet.Tesla STILL the leading provider of electric cars. The US govt basically gave all its space program to SpaceX, etc. /cont

PayPal worked out GREAT for Elon.

Sure, they fired him, but he stilled owned half the company, so, when it was sold off to eBay for $1.5 billion he made hundreds of millions of dollars, which he used to buy into his next ventures.

In the meantime, look at how many companies Musk controls/cont

Anyways - science fiction.

The Doctor Who spin off, "The War Between the Land and Sea" is quite good. If it aired in France, hope you caught it. If it's held till 2026, look for it.

Because Irish right wing groups are coordinating with US and Russian groups (according to the Irish govt).

And those messages of racism and nationalism are starting to work.

Because Ukranian refugees got helped.

"You're taking care of foreigners, not the Irish!"

Sigh.

Hell, Irish public sentiment? Here I turn to World Population Review - an NGO run by an American, Canadian, and German trio of libertarian think tanks taking data sets from the US CIA (according to their own methodology page).

Ireland was 5th friendliest country in the world, 2023. 13th in 2025.
December 15, 2025 at 9:13 AM
Ireland is also changing immigration policy to align more with the UK's new, more racist policies.

Yesterday our Taoiseach said Donald-Fucking-Trump was a "sensible man."

Martin is sucking Trump's dick because, again Ireland relies on techbros.

Who are Trumpies.
