To me it just feels like it values spectacle at the cost of all else. I was there to see it and participate in a major cultural event but I ended up feeling like I would have been incredibly drained if my friends weren't there. New Davide Soliani project and Mega Man were also helpful.

That sounds like a killer night Evan! I'm kind of getting misty eyed. It's really sweet seeing something like a typical, just having a good time style birthday being thrown for people willing to roll with nothing. Whimsy is eternal!

A lot of people probably tend to make major assumptions about huh? That's unfortunate that you basically have to send out probes, but absolutely understandable knowing what I do.

Saying thumbs up on the wrong product is hardly better and is an easy way to be discredited as a "real fan" in all discussion

I'd say hop off Wes but honestly that conviction impresses me to the point of being totally happy to accept this.

It also tasks you with creating a scenario, developing characters with their motivations, and more beyond that. It’s disheartening when I see a game that is made by people that want more fall into making what is effectively a linear board game instead. (3/3)

Creating games with legitimate depth requires much more than a prescribed list of elements allowed for use. Games need to put in that same work that a book does, outside of an easy to break down element. Writing a book requires excellent employment of sentence structure. (2/3)
