Like we think strategically about it but the results over and over do not bear that out bcuz people approach RCV in different ways including voting their preference and then voting all sorts of different things down the ranks

I think you can say that with 2021. But that mischaracterizes the dynamics of 2025. Im not sure why youre so adamant that second (or third) choice votes are some resounding sign of grudging acceptance. Voters dont engage with ranked choice that way at all

Like this was not some overwhelming win and a slightly different race coukd have different outcomes. Like for example Jazz Hampton got like 14% of the first round and half his second choices went to Frey. That shows that mist folks think he's fine at best
