He started losing followers & then deleted his accounts.

This isn't on people "piling on". He got reasonable responses, publicly, that hopefully should have led to reflection but it didn't seem to.

I don't think it's fair to say he was piled on without having seen it.

The video had racist undertones with inaccurate far right talking points.

People challenged what he said, with measured replies.

He downplayed their points in his replies. They got piled on/abused by the far right followers

Dee has also done a session each year in September for new staff on science of reading and UFLI.

For me it was online/YouTube but We've gone the sustained support route for staff. Too important.

Whole staff science of reading training with @playfulclassroom.bsky.social followed by UFLI EC recording then a few months later Dee coming to model lessons & work with us on UFLI whole school plan.

Year 3 for us too. Year 2 whole school. Game changer.

So important children are supported at whole class level to begin with. Also really important that any Tier 2 or 3 intervention mirrors classroom instruction and happens in addition to rather than in place of classroom instruction

I think this is important to reflect on. Sometimes we concentrate too much on intervention when we really need to look at whole class instruction. Would love to hear others thoughts!
