I’d like to share your optimism but past history tells us that any level of Republican pushback becomes merely a moderate breeze only days later. I need an utter revolt before I’m convinced.

Bravo for them. It will be interesting to see if other organizations follow their lead. Hope so.

Untrustworthy and opportunistic… just like Vance. A political liability for any government.

#43 essentially forced the Canucks to trade him..partly because he didn’t see this team, as currently constructed, as a winning opportunity. It is totally within his rights to leave. He could have been a Canuck legend but he chose not to be. He shouldn’t be honoured by the team he chose to leave.

This response should not surprise anyone. Trump can't hide who he is. What we continue to find out is that there a whole bunch of people in the USA (including nearly EVERY elected Republican) who we now know are just like him. Ask any of them to defend Trump's post and push back on their answer.

Everyone of those remaining have some type of no trade clause. #canucks

This is 100% true.

And no thanks to Jim Benning for only signing Hughes to a 6 year deal (not 8 years) … if you had him for 3 more years, Hughes would have no choice but to be part of the rebuild #canucks

And they wasted a 1st round pick for a 29 year old Dman with a no trade clause (Pettersson) signed an injury prone goalie to a no trade contract and will be unable to trade Boesser unless he wants out. What a colossal mess we have.

We used to own property in the USA. About 1 hour from our home. I’m do glad we sold it in 2023. I wasn’t planning to visit the USA during this administration, but now I might extend that to forever.

It’s a small miracle that he didn’t also issue a decree to officially rename the font to “Trump New Roman”.
December 10, 2025 at 4:35 AM
I don’t need another reason to never travel to the USA ever again, but thanks for giving me one.

In an era where athletes make an obscene amount of money and where we often think the player just takes the most money offered, sometimes it’s the player who is really conducting the interview. Let’s hope his character translates to great outcomes.
