Is there simply no way a person can sue ICE or the government for being injured, illegally detained, unlawful entry to a residence, indiscriminate damage to property (i.e., a vehicle), or any of this? Seems like huge lawsuits and monetary damages would be a deterrent if possible.

The bar for a grand jury indictment is low. Been on a grand jury. All you are really doing is deciding whether someone should be tried by a jury. You don’t decide guilt so no pressure. Very low bar unfortunately which is likely how this passed through a grand jury to indictment.
