My poem, ‘A Dream of One More Outing’, dedicated to my wonderful mother-in-law, Moira, starts at 9.45 approx. I’ve tried to capture what a trailblazer she was. I’m thrilled that Zöe and Edel ‘got’ what I was trying to say. Thanks for selecting my piece.

My gratitude to Edel Coffey and Zöe for this amazing opportunity. This was written during a stint at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre earlier this year. Last photo is my high tech recording studio aka the hot press, or airing cupboard if you’ve notions.

Irish businesses will struggle to compete with Amazon ie, both online and in the high street.

Shop direct with your Irish retailers, who already exist.

My son Luke: "I suffered a life-threatening brain injury...and spent five weeks in a coma. I had to retrain my body to do everything, from moving my fingers to walking....With incredible difficulty and determination, I trained myself to write again.

Important thread on imbalance in the arts re. earnings, career longevity, feasibility of being a creative etc.

Thanks @oisinmcgann.bsky.social

Let me tell you about the weird business that delivers art into our lives, and the impact it has on the long-term careers of artists. This is a thread prompted by yet another article on authors' incomes, and the inevitable reactions from the 'people-would-pay-if-it-was-worth-it-to-them' brigade. 1/
