This little one finally left its place on the fence near its chrysalis. I found it on the ground nearby (1st photo) and wanted to make sure it got to a safer place with better camouflage. Luckily it stayed on the leaf and I was able to move it to a tree with matching colors 🧡 #butterfly #nature

Wow wow wow! This Gulf Fritillary made its chrysalis back in mid-September. Typically they emerge after 7-14 days, however it can be longer if its cold. So glad I decided to wait on harvesting the "dead" chrysalis for my insect collection! Feels unreal that I got to actually see it emerge today!! 🦋🧡
