I disagree with the entire premise.
I think we can absolutely dream faces we haven't seen.
I've dreamed half-human monsters before and yet to meet any.

Person standing next to me as I passed a mirror saying 'What do you mean you know we're asleep? This is weird, make it stop!'

That explains the angry, grumbling noises from the second drawer down

There were flag shaggers on the tube home. One started up a chatty conversation with a dog owner about how lovely their dog was. Dog owner visibly NOT a white UK person. Huh? Dogs help people overcome racism maybe? (Dog was indeed a lovely and friendly dog)
