Neither, I don't know why they were defending cave divots and empty hallways.

My entire point of that conversation is that world design in pokemon has felt boring for the past decade. Especially with the removal repels, fishing and arguably HMs (or gated progression with world interaction).

Modern Pokémon games really struggle with any typical sense of exploration, puzzle solving and has a lack of obstacle.

You cannot tell me the average person thinks less dungeon crawling is a wanted thing
