My vague recollection that it was Whites Aviation appears to be correct. I think the weird/faded colour was because they were handcoloured.

An improvement for sure ...... but for me, it would look even better if the column was only the height of the wall and then the wall was capped all the way across.

Is the long sweep of sandy beach to the left of your photo? And is Curio Bay (the bay not the settlement) to the right of the headland? Been there but this is not the view what I recall. Sea lions on the beach!
