I mean, having the opportunity to engage NPCs in real conversation is literally the dream, especially in immersive rpgs with big worlds. But Gen AI is not the answer. Spewing out impromptu fanfiction isn't a satisfactory answer. The closest thing would be an mmo rp server, or literally d&d.
