Ur not wrong because he did say sometimes you need a dictator, which is clearly praising the idea of dictatorship, however the “I’m a dictator” part was him referring to what other ppl say about him, not him openly saying he is a dictator (dementia hasn’t set in so far as he would admit that… yet)

I think the mentality almost just becomes that the current regime is so bad reshuffling the deck is unlikely to yield anything much worse.

Some reporting I saw indicated they were against because they wanted more time to prepare for a response and because they wanted any action to be a decisive blow to the regime, not a repeat of the nuclear site strikes. With the carrier getting close we could be getting near go time if it will happen

I’m just saying there’s no need to twist the Iran issue back towards Trump sucking when the conversation is Iran. What’s happening in Iran deserves its own spotlight. He says a lot of crazy shit and that’s partially by design, can’t get too sucked into it even though it’s so frustrating to watch

Mowing down peaceful protesters in the streets with machine guns by the thousand is beyond anything you can try to accuse the US of. Regardless of the warts this administration has there is no comparison to the Islamic Republic and what they’ve done

I get it, screw those guys, but I think we need to stay grounded in how lucky we are that this is the norm breaking we are experiencing. What ICE is doing is wrong but they aren’t doing anything close to indiscriminately firing into crowds of peaceful protesters

I’m very much against Trump and ICE but it seems like a really big stretch to compare our situation here to Iran. Like really almost a bit disrespectful. As sad as it is that ICE has shot a handful of Americans, in Iran they were spraying machine guns into crowds and killing injured in hospitals…

It’s not a genocide. Terrible, but clearly doesn’t fit the definition just like Gaza doesn’t. I will say, Iran just killed 16,500 people in roughly two days. Hamas claims ~60k dead (including militants) in 2.5 years. Israel is clearly not committing genocide. It’s become quite a laughable accusation

I have Persian family, hopefully one day soon Iran is free and I can go there with them, and see the home they had to flee from. I hope the US does what’s right and ends the regime as soon as the assets required are in the region.

I just don’t get why we have to bring genocide into everything these days. It means a very specific thing. Hopefully Khamenei gets put in the dirt for the atrocity he committed as soon as the carrier gets to the Middle East.

There is certainly some issue with that, however the idea of multiple layers of ownership across Ottoman, Jordanian, & Israeli rule is a legit legal quagmire. While it does seem some favoritism has certainly been given to Israelis, I also see many situational examples of the court seeking compromise

Legitimate critiques typically will reference real policies or laws as opposed to vague statements like ‘Israel is an apartheid state’
