Small news: I’m really proud to be running for a Town Council seat in Trumbull’s 5th district as part of our democratic ticket.

My goals and reasons:
1. Keep Trumbull a place where everyone belongs 🇺🇸🏳️‍🌈
2. Make Trumbull more walkable and bikeable
3. Push for more homes of all types in town

On a Patreon pod episode John Ganz said that “Ezra thinks he’s the pope of liberalism” and I kinda think that nails…everything critique I have of him (also agree that he’s on the whole good!)

Our door knocking on a blustery fall day. Had a long conversation about how to slow down traffic in my district—exactly the kind of thing we should be doing!

I think Governor Lamont is underrating what a huge topic this could be next year—and he has no answers.

He’s pushing expensive, GHG-laden gas, delaying new transmission/distribution infrastructure, and he let Marissa Gillett (who actually voted against rate increases!) get harassed into quitting.

More people should be talking about this.

I think part of the problem is that these demands are too simple!

Any negotiations must include—bare minimum—common sense provisions that most Americans agree with:
1. An end to “recission” cuts
2. No wanton, violent ICE raids
3. Stop the invasion of sovereign states by the NG

Go from there!

Republicans won’t reopen the government because they are fighting to raise your health care costs.

Democrats are simply asking Congress to help stop health care premiums from increasing for 24 million Americans & to protect health coverage for more than 15 million Americans.

Even if you’ve never thought about running for office (I legit NEVER did), it’s not scary or nearly as intimidating as I assumed.

If you’re in the YIMBY/safe streets movement, we need people like you to post and run. Give it a shot! Worst case scenario is that you lose—which isn’t bad!

Federal politics sucks all hell right now, but it’s reassuring to door knock walk w/people who see what’s happening and how awful it is.

Added bonus: getting arugula and zucchini from someone’s garden.

Ahhh the “omg I just saw Ned Resnikoff and Nolan Gray at YIMBYtown” as my wife stares blankly level of fame

Oh shit—I’m nameplate official!

(For the last meeting tonight before the election 😂)

Your periodic reminder that we’re living through a solar ☀️☀️☀️ energy (and battery storage) revolution, but most Connecticut residents probably don’t know it because of our terrible policies at the utility and state level
janrosenow.bsky.social
Exciting developments in solar.

Just read this fascinating FT article on perovskite solar panels – the next-gen innovation that's lighter, more flexible, and up to 20% more efficient than traditional silicon ones.

Imagine panels turning everyday surfaces into power generators

A WILD ONE: A man broke his leg during an arrest by ICE at a car wash south of L.A.

ICE has held him under 24/7 guard at a hospital, registering him under a pseudonym, for *37 days* without telling him why.

A judge has ordered his immediate release.

ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.

Per my original post, I don’t think it will help.

Calling it now: this $250 million, 3 year “flex lane” will not solve traffic congestion on I-84

Keep in mind that while DOT is doing this (and even more work on 84!!!), the $5.7 million in funding for the Naugatuck Greenway is apparently not in their budget

Construction of new 'Flex Lane' on I-84 in Danbury – the first in CT – to start in 2028
DOT spokesman Josh Morgan said the Flex Lane and other roadway upgrades in the corridor will cost roughly $250 million.

Yep! And contras that w/ when he *does* act

Private equity trying to pillage your citizen’s bankrupted hospitals?

Lamont is nowhere.

UI trying to build power lines next to existing rail ROW?

Lamont is there to intervene on Southport’s behalf and wants all of NE to pay to bury the lines
trumbullbrod.bsky.social
Yep! I really think without Covid perception of him would be wildly different (then again people in the NE seem to like do nothing status quo governors like him or Baker)
trumbullbrod.bsky.social
My wife and I play this game often: what’s your favorite show that clearly would have been cancelled after an uneven Season 1 if it was made in 2025?
trumbullbrod.bsky.social
Every non-covid moment—tolls, 5002, energy policy and executive appointments—has been marked by a rudderless lack of focus or control
trumbullbrod.bsky.social
The perfect Lamont headline

I think you can really look at the Covid-19 emergency as a framing moment for him—without his steady handling (I think he did well!) what would his 8 years have been about?
ctmirror.org/2025/10/05/n...
It's clear Lamont wants a 3rd term, less so what he would do
Gov. Ned Lamont has intended to contrast his steady pragmatism with the drama of Trump. To that end, the federal shutdown has been a gift.

Drivers have killed 41 pedestrians/cyclists, so far, this year in Connecticut.

The most recent preventable death happened Enfield on 5-lane Rt 190 when an SUV driver struck a pedestrian as she stood on a disconnected sidewalk by a marked crosswalk.
