Today it was an absolute privilege to be sworn in as Ward E Trustee for Edmonton Public School Division. I'm honoured to have been chosen to represent you. Thank you for trusting me with your students and your communities.
A note that I am terrible at updating ALL the socials every time. I'm much more active on Instagram and Facebook. Find me here: linktr.ee/trusteedoll

Today offered a powerful contrast in the work of a school board trustee.

This morning: the ASBA FGM, where trustees from across AB debated & voted on advocacy positions that will guide our collective efforts at the provincial level. These decisions help shape the long-term direction of public ed.

My life for the last few months:
"Oh you're Sarah Doll!? I've seen your signs!"
And so it continues.... 😍🥰

Thank you @lynnwoodschool for the warm and fuzzies today!

We did it, Ward E!

Thank you to everyone who voted, donated, volunteered, or reminded me what I was working for throughout this campaign. You made this happen, and I’m so grateful.

Polls are closed. Votes are being counted. Thank you to everyone who believed in this campaign. I'll be signing off until we have final vote results. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your support meant the world to me.

Quick endorsement thread. I've been very humbled by the support I've received. I'll add more as they come in.

Proud to stand with teachers, students, and families today at the legislature. We need to fund public education in Alberta properly and fairly. #publiceducation #soldarity #ata #abpubliced

I'm incredibly honoured to have earned an endorsement from Heather MacKenzie, former Edmonton Public Ward E Trustee. Heather is a dedicated advocate for human rights, community builder, and an all-around force for good in this city. Thank you so much for your support, Heather.

Thrilled to be endorsed by Michael Phair, former Edmonton City Councillor and adjunct professor with the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services at the U of A. Michael has always been a courageous advocate for public education, equity, and marginalized communities.

Today, on Truth and Reconciliation Day, we honor survivors of residential schools and commit to action. As a trustee, I will focus on answering the TRC Calls to Action especially those that apply to education:

Knocking in @west_jasper_place_yeg tonight and I want to address something that's coming up time and time again at the doors:

These ATA signs are on the lawns of teachers, yes, but more often than not who answers the door is a loved one.

This morning Minister of Finance Nate Horner announced that they'd reached a tentative agreement with @albertateachers.bsky.social.

Does this mean we have avoided a teacher strike?

Not yet. I wouldn't cancel your contingency plans.

More to come.... #abteacherstrike #fundpubliceducation

Saturday: Emergency room.
Tuesday: Back knocking doors in Ward E.
I’ve run this campaign the same way I've always done advocacy—and the same way I’ll serve as trustee: by working hard, even when it’s tough, and by actually showing up for people.

Thanks you so much to my friends, family, and many supporters in Ward E for making my campaign launch party such a huge success!

The vibes were immaculate -- a hard won evening a celebration by many who have joined me in the fight for inclusive public education over these many years.

I had the best time on the doors in Wedgewood! The residents there all had tough questions- the best kind!

We talked about how the division's budget is allocated, the role of trustee, what governance actually means, & how my plan for policy creation will help make an actual impact for students.

Looking back at the ground we’ve covered, and I'm incredibly proud. I've been putting in the work - not only at the doors - connecting with residents.

This is nothing new for me, so sometimes I forget the incredible amount of hard work and time a good campaign takes.

I've been humbled by the support from my network. I'll be sharing endorsements between now & Oct.

Justine is a relentless advocate for human rights and inclusion minded EA to very lucky students. We met on the picket line, and she's been an amazing help with my campaign.

Happy First Day of School!

While reflecting on the first day of school with my own family, I am sending love to the families with disabled students who often struggle during this time of year.

Spent the day volunteering at the annual Labour Day BBQ put on by the Edmonton District Labour Council. Such an awesome event where workers come together in solidarity and support the community. It feels so good to give my time to such a good cause.
Thank you so much to the organizers!

It's been a LONG day of honestly quite dystopian news in regard to our public schools and our school division.

My thoughts on the book ban are posted, but I couldn't let the day end without putting my well known stance on the record once again because these kids deserve to hear it over & over.

This is disingenuous. The only public statement from the board on this was in May, prior to the Ministerial Order, and there's not a peep after that. The board has consistently failed to speak up on the issues that matter.
