You might want to start with “zachte drop” soft varieties

I like the “munten drop”, coin licorice. It is mild in flavor but hard and chewy. I also recommend “honing drop”, honey licorice. Very good for sore throats. For a really Dutch experience, try “dubbel zoute drop”, double salted licorice. Don’t eat too much of that it can cause high BP

Similar I think but I think the Dutch have the most varieties available.

(1) About a year ago I at CVS an hour or so before closing. The self checkout was out of order and there were no employees in the store at all. After walking around calling out: Hello, anyone here for at least 10 minutes and being very tempted to just walk out, an employee came out.
