A friend of mine extracted Final Fantasy VI's script, ran it through a battery of translation engines ending back at English, and re-inserted it. The result is... pretty unhinged and amusing IMO.

Retroachievements actually did the right thing. I didn't think any kind of community that went that far into "Neutrality is more important than safety" could possibly walk back.

Like I entirely wrote them off because I didn't think coming back was possible; literally.

Anyway take it from someone who lived in CA for 10yr: he's every much a centrist robot as the rest of them. Just somehow managed to keep it secret to 49 states.

He'll randomly go into a DF style strange mood and do something ludicrous with far-left reaching implications but it's largely accidental

You should be allowed to blat a recording from a loudspeaker back at them exactly as loud as the sound coming in, and you have all the parts to do it.

But yeah, despite it being exactly as loud as you're hearing, you'd get BS about "Well they're just living, you're doing it on PURPOSE" or something

Far as I can tell, your gear doesn't actually do anything for you, at all, unless you remove and re-add it in battle.

Secret of the Stars is literally unbeatable without exploiting a glitch to fix a massive bug in their stat code.

Bazoe! Ancient Magic is a SNES RPG with about as much grind as a Disgaea game.

Ancient Roman is Ancient Roman.

The bar for "Terrible RPG" is far lower than many people think.

I have no idea if that Quest 64 account is being genuine or what but having played that game myself this year, it's at *worst* a mediocre unfinished RPG and absolutely not a terrible game on any metric.

I enjoyed it, really.

Anyway Retroachievements pretty much cannot win my trust back so I've written that off and moved on with my life.

Unless they deleted the cheevos in the past hour, the cheevos in question also haven't even been put public yet so this isn't even a matter of preservation.

Yeah... I'm in one thing with 12 folks and 20 channels because any time someone wanted to start a new topic while another was going on they just made a $topic-2.

And I kind of wonder if sitting in one 75 person IRC channel and having 3 interleaving convos at once is an archaic dead skill.

Part of why I had An Entire Literal Breakdown in 2020 was being paged 3-30 times every night just to have a ladder slam against my wall and hammering start over my head at 8am sharp for 6 months straight.

Didn't matter. Still had to do overnight deploys and on-call.

Picked streaming Quartet back up and found a dialogue glitch while a dev was watching.

Finding a bug live in front of a dev is always the most "Sorry, happy to help, sorry, glad I could find that, sorry" situation.

I'm still kind of pissy at them for launching 1.0 with only 2/3rd the plot done but they sure as hell pivoted to shoehorn in MTX and that weird AF factions and trading thing before doing so.

At least I can opt out of trading because I feel like the game was designed without it, but ugh.
