Idk if any movie has really caught the books, I mean, I have a darn degree in this and I still have no idea how Lovecraft can be so otherworldly creepy. Many have tried to copy it but the guy has that something.

Curious how the populist right everywhere pretends so patriotic, and if they get to power, the first thing they do is to try to do away with the Constitution that generally prevents them from doing authoritative fascist shit in all Western countries. While all the major world stage players are more or less assholes (this follows from the structure of such things, they're not individual people), US government should probably take a long, hard look in the mirror when China starts looking like the good guys in comparison.

My brother and his family are antivaxx, ie. don't care about my risk group parents - dad could literally die very easy to something like this - and moving this on to their children, and even trying to guilt the said risk group parents to attend their party at the height of covid.

100% agree. The narratives people go for are just strange in the sense that if you ask the same people very down-to-earth questions that are not about images or ideology, most people ANYWHERE give very similar answers. The images and ideologies are smoke screens, planned and created.
