I grew up in Michigan in the 80s/90s, survival swim was a thing: the legislature figured out that it was cheaper to pay to teach everyone to swim than to staff all the beaches with rescue personnel.

We wore swimsuits, taught how to wear a USCG approved life jacket, and how to float & swim.

Ghost's browser based one is good enough, but I would recommend using one that supports local file storage like Obsidian, Ulysses, Scrivener, Pages (macOS), or Amber (macOS). They're all pretty good, and there are others. Find the one that disappears as you write, and it's just you and your ideas
