At what point is military leadership culpable for following illegal orders? Is it only on the ground, when grunts are ordered to slaughter villagers, or does it also apply to generals ordered to send troops to overthrow the government of a foreign nation without approval of congress?

Why is "the economy" used as a stand-in for the health of the nation in the first place? Are the people living fulfilling lives? Are we happy? Do we feel safe? Are we optimistic about the future? Aren't these the things that matter, and doesn't economics only measures these things by accident?

Like many statistics that are routinely used to measure our society's health, "applied for benefits" is pretty weak statistic. It could mean that fewer people are unemployed or that more people have been unemployed so long they no longer qualify for benefits or several other things.

No one person should have the power to guarantee the concentration of access to information. Can this be other than an attack on our nation? We should be taxing the rich and the mega corporations until they no longer have the power to create coups on a whim

As a citizen, all I can do is vote for representatives that then post on social media instead of stopping the atrocities. What can you, as a senator, do? In addition to posting on social media, I mean.

Our constitution designed a government where tension sat between the three branches of government, each kept in line by the other two. It was not designed for the tension between two parties to span all three branches. We can have constitutional checks and balances or a two party system, not both.

We've had several. Our ancestors didn't get minimum wage, child labor laws, weekends, social security, unions, anti-trust laws, etc. from asking nicely.
