Author of coming-of-age fantasy 🏰⚔️🧙‍♀️
Finally implemented my editor's suggestions for my WIP novel, & spent the afternoon creating the title, copyright, dedication pages. Seeing those pages appear on the manuscript suddenly makes it all feel real. Who would have thought this would be such a satisfying part of the process? #writing

Interesting take on the rapid release debate.

I'm torn between releasing one book a year starting this August/September, or doing books 1-3 next year as rapid release before then releasing books 4 and 5 a year apart - it's a tough one!

Indie fantasy authors: would you recommend a rapid release strategy for a debut author, or a slower, one book a year approach? Currently researching this and there are so many different views out there! #indieauthors

Four days, 4000 words. A small number in the context of the whole novel that I need to get down on paper, but I'm tempted to harness this momentum and see if I can get a continued streak of 1000+ words a day going! ✍️

Fantasy writing hot take: say what you like about the quality of The Rings of Power, but the soundtrack by Bear McCreary is one of THE BEST soundtracks to write fantasy to. So motivating and inspiring 💪✍️🎺 #writing

Opened my WIP manuscript only to find that all 1600+ words I wrote yesterday were gone. 😱

Cue instant panic.

But then… I remembered the undo button. Crisis averted, words recovered, and my sanity (mostly) intact.

First day today writing book 2 of my upcoming YA fantasy series, The Chronicles of the Divided Isle, after taking a long hiatus to edit book 1 and write a companion novella. 1700-ish words written, bringing it to 62731 words. Feels amazing to be diving back into this story again! #writingcommunity

What books from your childhood got you into reading? For me, it was Brian Jacques' Redwall series. The mysteries, feasts, songs, themes of friendship and good triumphing over evil...they captured my imagination like nothing else, and I read many of the books in the series at least 10 times.

Warlords of the Wyrdwood, R.J. Barker
Ship of Magic, Robin Hobb
Godsgrave and Darkdawn, Jay Kristoff
Realm Breaker, Victoria Aveyard
What are you excited to read this year?
