TIL: My Automatic Document Feeder has no problems bulk scanning punched cards. This possibly makes the need for a second card reader solely for digitizing decks not necessary.

telephone poles get treated with fumigants to protect them from insects and fungus attacks. this one has metal tags hammered in that indicate it is protected by Osmose Woodfume.

the guy wires have grounding wires.

today's hike. went up a mountain, saw an antenna.
a large TV/radio antenna with multiple sets of antennas. clustered in the lower half are several microwave dishes. a low building houses the transmitters.

what was the problem? a while back there was a bad SMS card that i swapped out with a spare. turns out the spare went bad as well, so i just swapped in the original card since i had repaired it. see this thread: mastodon.social/@tubetime/11...
