It's staggering to me how many garbage-pail humans feel like they need to have the slurs of their youth back because the foundational ask of "please be considerate to other human beings", even in the tiniest possible form, is too much bother for them.

I composed this message, posted it in the mod chat Sunday PM, and left the server. I let the head mod know via DM that I was out, and then I blocked them.

For honesty’s sake: I want to fight nickel for every gd thing they said to me, but I don’t blame them for what they didn’t do, so I meant this.

A lot was said about and to me in mod chat and DMs. There was zero mention in the mod channel of gen being taken down, so I asked where it was. Later I was informed my “permission to access” gen had been removed. I DMed my writers the names of helpful mods, since fuck staying in all that.

But again, and importantly, if all that is not the case because YOU are a MonsterMash contributor and what I said made you feel guilty or unwelcome or exposed, I am truly sorry. I’m sorry I could not address or apologize to you in the server; I would have done so immediately with regret and respect.

So I think—but I can’t know, because I was locked out of the general channels despite being kept in the server as a mod???, and zero proof or discussion happened—the person I made feel “uncomfortable” and “guilty” is that mod.

And I think they deserve to feel that way and it’s overdue.

Discussion of the mod not coming to the other mods before posting about merch, or publicly complain-speculating about possibly having to spend money instead of contacting the merch company to find out… was forbidden

The way it ended was: I was put on a sudden “time out” in the mod chat while responding to accusations from “HR” (including that I’d responded late at night to manipulate time against a parent of children with special needs, which. fucking wow.)

I was barred from old and new gen channels

I am so angry about the way I was treated for most of that project, particularly the last few months, most of all the last two days. I think the idea of the project is great and I was thrilled to be accepted as a writing mod. I loved working with my writers. I am sad it ended this way.

If you are contributor to MM and what I said in the general chat hurt you or made you feel guilty or highlighted in an unwelcome way: I apologize. I hope you can believe I was trying to advocate for your comfort and dignity when I thought someone with power was being careless of it in our faces.

I was treated with great disrespect, and I believe dishonesty. I was called “intellectually immature” and accused of making contributors feel “uncomfortable” and “guilty”… for rebuking a mod who whined in front of contributors about possibly having to spend money to *do their job for the zine*.
