I've had a rotation of Gris screenshots as my desktop wallpapers for years. But I'm always tickled when this one shows up on start up. Love the perfect framing.

It is awash in cool blues and purples, with several rounded, ornate structures hanging down from the top of the screen right and left, and in the middle is a platform with several plants growning out of it. In the very center is a large vase with a highly stylized tree growing from it. The canopy of the tree is a perfect square, and the branches are all geometric curves. All of the branches cut off in a perfect horizontal line a little more than halfway up the cube of the canopy. The serendipity here is that the mac os login includes a small, written date above a larger digital readout of the current time. All of that, date and time, fit perfectly into the negative space of the canopy of that tree, above all of the bbranches, and b below the upper edge.

This is the same species as the 3rd image in the last post - Layia platyglossa - Tidy-Tips - but this seed still has it's white, hairy coating and tail. The seed is oriented similarly, mostly horizontal, pointing to the right, but slightly pointing upward. The streaky white hairs, and white tail strands make it look like a rocket. This is a close up on the tail strands of the seed in the last image (Tidy Tips). Here it can be seen that the strands are made up of thousands of little spikey hairs arrayed around a central shaft. They almost look like white pine/fir needles. A couple of irregular looking Platystemon californicus - Cream Cups seeds. These are funky shapes with deep crags in long strands that make them look like old driftwood or shredded wheat biscuits or something. They're a light brown, with a deep green backdrop. Another image of some different Platystemon californicus - Cream Cups seeds. Here the fibrous nature of the surface crags can be seen, like layers of cardboard or paper. Lit from above with white, and below with a warmer/red light, and a deep green background.

They are long ovoids, with rough outer shapes, but curled up so that they look like potato chips or dried leaves. Microscopy photo of a Limnanthes douglasii - Meadowfoam seed. The large seed is a long oval shape with lots of deep pits and crags. it looks like an aasteroid, or a peach pit. Lots of dust and small particles can be seen blurred against the background. A single seed of Layia platyglossa - Tidy-Tips. It is a long, pointy shape, centered in the image, running horizontally. The shape is like a closed umbrella, without the handle. It is a deep purple color with lighter colored striations running end to end. There is a large pinky/purple circle backdrop.
