And to the other extreme: you are not the laughingstock of the entire world—quite the opposite, in fact. The whole world is afraid of you, not laughing at you.

The United States lost the world’s respect a long time ago due to its own political polarization and the rise of extremes, especially the rise of the far right.

Meanwhile, the other extreme claims that, in the same four weeks, they have turned into the laughingstock of the entire world. Both sides are wrong.
