Best game of the arc yet. Van is still a joy to have as protag, but was nice to see some other favorites come back too! Trails definitely seems to be gearing up to reach SOME sort of finale. My rough guess is maybe 3 more games! (1/3)

The magic ain't quite there for me like it was when I first played the original HL mod in 2011, but this was still a good few hours of fun. The intro to the "new content" and the end scenario were pretty strong! The Bucket content didn't really do much for me.

I'd heard reception on this was a bit mixed, but I knew I wanted to give it a whirl and come to my own conclusions!
Aaaand, MY verdict, this is earnestly one of the most boring RPGs I've ever played. I can't really recommend Star Ocean 5 to anyone. (1/3)

Breaking in 2026 by knocking out the last 2D Igavania! Definitely my favorite player kit in the series. Love the glyphs, and that tasty renewable MP bar. Only thing keeping it out of my top spot is that I thought most of the boss fights were on the weaker side.

Aaaaaaand there's the 2025 buzzer beater! This game was a TON of fun! Never actually played a proper DW before, always either Samurai or Hyrule Warriors. I'm sure I'll wander into a more traditional DW at some point, where the weapon types are more varied/unique. (1/2)

Nice, cozy, melancholy little pair of kinetic novels. Great little way to spend the afternoon! I might check out some of the anime to see it in motion, too! Altogether only took about 4-5 hours, so go check it out!

I was kind of in the mood to throw myself into a new roguelike for a bit. This game is VERY fun. Super flashy, super satisfying. IDK how much time I'll end up putting into it cause my interest tends to fade once I win a few runs, but we'll see! I recommend checking it out!

Hopped into the new full 1.0 release and polished off the rest of the story. Y'all made a hell of a finale, goddamn.
Great little story about taking a moment to just chill the hell out.

I am greatly saddened. Judgement and its sequel are, bar none, THE best experiences I have ever had with the RGG series, and the spinoff series is dead forever thanks to some dinosaurs in a board room. This game was goddamn terrific. (1/2)

A short-form RPG for one chonky handheld. I liked it! It had character for 1994 and told a neat story over ~10 hours. The combat tried a weird active input thing, which took some getting used to. Unique, but prolly just prefer a normal menu.

I had some issues with Dawn of Sorrow, but this one course-corrected for me! The map design is a little bit more separated than I'd want for the genre due to the portraits, but I at least felt like I was being rewarded for exploring! This was a good one!!!

It's actually a really convenient option for emulator hotkeys, which usually use keyboard keys.

Absurdly excellent remake from top to bottom. The combat is the best it's ever been, and the QOL is insane. Some of the field areas lost a bit of their vibe from the OG, and I miss that XSeed flavor in the English script, but other than that, truly NO COMPLAINTS.

This one's considered a real classic iirc, and I get it! I got some mixed feelings about this one though. The world, writing, and vibe were all SUPER pleasant, sweet, and fun, but I kinda felt a significant lack of...characters actually interacting with each other?? (1/3)

had to scrape my brain a little bit but I don't think I could pick anyone but them

WHAT A WILD-ASS GAME. It gives off an early awkward & janky impression of being slapped together with such heavy use of royalty free music and art, but this game is deceptively polished. I felt like I was playing an early 2000s Falcom game from an alternate universe. (1/2)

Yeah no, it's incredible. 100% at ~55 hours. Game's sweaty as hell and for absolute sickos. Team Cherry made this game for themselves and no one else, and I can respect that. Just like I said at the beginning of the year for Ender Magnolia, this is a pillar of the genre.

I had a great time! I can't speak for the PC players, but people are being WAY too hard on this game. The plot was kinda sparse and nonsensical so if you wanted more out of THAT, I wouldn't blame you for being disappointed. The game needed more hitstop/impact too. (1/2)

TERRIFIC game. I absolutely loved this. The general plot, characters, and villains were nothing too groundbreaking, but this game just had SO much heart. The Thousand Years of Dreams are presented beautifully and they'll stick with me a long time. Combat was really fun too!
