Merry Christmas Eve! Des joyeuses fêtes à Ogden, QC!
December 24, 2025 at 3:03 PM
This string of Christmas lights is one I remember from when I was a brat. My late Dad gave them to me in 2006 when he sold the house where I grew up.

This has to be the most restrained Christmas display I have done in years! My hubby even said it was almost tasteful...LOL Well, it's better than nothing.

Note to self... Do NOT start renovations after October if you can't finish them yourself. Oy gevalt, I wish I was 20 years younger and could do the work myself...🙄

The perils of living in the middle of nowhere... Sadly there are exactly 4 houses affected by this (ours and 3 neighbours) so Hydro-Québec is not going to rush on this. Gawd forbid they have to pay weekend overtime!!
Meanwhile it's a chilly 10 degrees (50 Fahrenheit) inside the house...

Looking forward to getting this beauty back into regular service again! Water valve temperature issues seem to be resolved.. Just have to pop in a new pulsator and she'll be washing again!

So, it's not going as quickly as I would have liked, but the Ogden Laundry renovations are moving forward. I won't have machines hooked up again anytime soon, but hubby, me, and The Bear should be able to spend Christmas down there... More later this week!

When I really got interested in vintage washers and dryers back in 2008, this 1966 Inglis (a Canadian-built version of Whirlpool) washer and dryer set were my first finds. Both machines have been fully restored and are still in use!

Collectors will get this... I had a first-run 1966 Maytag dishwasher years ago, let it go and regretted it. Luckily, I found another one and it is in way better shape so woooo hoooo!
