As far as I can tell Austin beutner is probably the best bet at this point. He wrote a study back when he was a deputy mayor under Antonio villaraigosa about how awful the DWP is, and that was years ago. Kept the city fed and valued through covid too, as superintendent.

Did you see that one board member ask directly "How are you going to engage more non profits?" I didn't hear a single opinion or statement of fact from any of them. Get rid of all of them, I want state appointed, qualifications driven hiring to run metro.

That was my first real board meeting that I watched, I hated every minute of it. They spent more time patting themselves on the back and talking about how they could waste more time on community outreach than any substantial talk about costs or benefits.

I dont need pictures but make sure you check out the new protected bike lane on Lincoln starting at the post street bridge!

How do you get this visualization/data? I would love to see california and Texas, just for comparison.

Well maybe that hasn't been great but at least they're putting in concrete protected bike lanes on Lincoln from riverfront park

Okay but be weary, that rent control ordinance is really really bad, it keeps rent increases below even inflation

Also not the nimbys talking during the alley vacation before. The cherry on top being that they had blocked the whole thing off years ago for their own use

Why are far side stops better than near side? Near side the bus is able to let people off when its stopped for a red light anyways sometimes, saving time. Farside a bus will always be stopped during a time when it could be moving.

Nobody is forcing you to build on your property. Yimbys just want more housing to be built where people want to live.

I'm sorry did the k line southern extension already get chosen? To Torrance? Was it the good one or bad one? I remember you made a video shitting on a council member from the area about it

What are the chances of this actually doing anything good? Or just another case of nothing ever happens?

Culver city just has an insane amount of stuff in the pipeline. 4.2k units, going to be a huge change in the city if even half of them get built. I think that across the whole city there are around 19k units total (single family + multi family)

I honestly think that until better land use and more development occurs, total pedestrianization is not the best move. Lane diets, sidewalk widening, bike lanes, sure. Pedestrianization? Not sold yet.

Just have a minimum height limit. Something like 80 feet, which is higher than a 7 story 5 over 1, forcing whatever gets built there to be a high rise

System is working as intended.

As far as I can tell, its a two way street with one wider lane, the car travels down the middle which gives enough space for bikes on either side. If two cars approach head on, they both have to slow down and move over.

Many interesting projects in Spokane. 9plex, 0 parking in browne's addition. Here's a 30 unit mixed use building in Hillyard.

Whats the adress of this project? I might want to visit it at some point.

It actually has the 20th highest ridership per capita of any system in the us. Quite a few lines of frequency 15min or faster, and planning a full dedicated lane BRT down our main arterial, division. (City line doesn't have dedicated lanes, just 7.5 min frequency, good stations.)
