For reference here was our previous season’s playoff bracket in our college football simulation. Each team had least 2 losses or less. There are more G5 teams, yeah, but it’s also because the talent on those teams is higher than what we see IRL. Something that does happen in a simulation.

A #CollegeFootball 🧵

After the whole Notre Dame debacle yesterday, I reflected on my sports simulation community. Like, we run a CFB simulation and we try to emulate as much of the process as we can, including a selection committee for our playoffs.

I’m happy to announce we are starting our sixth season of SimCFB, a college football simulation, this week. For the first three weeks, we will be running spring games - practice games where users can get used to the new systems and find a strategy that works best for their teams.

After many weeks of fine-tuning and patching, our #collegefootball simulation engine has reached a state where we’re ready to kick things off with our 6th season.

Lot of work was done with adding the new passing plays and nerfing certain runs. Below are results from the latest batch of testing

The more I look at the results from my college hockey simulation and compare it to IRL, it does not make sense how Alaska, Stonehill, Niagara, Air Force, and Alaska-Anchorage are in the top 10

Currently managing a basketball simulation & hockey simulation in unison. Lately I’ve put out updates for Hockey, but I will work on putting out updates for basketball as well.

With that said, we’re in week 7 of our college basketball season. Here’s the top 25
