It’s certainly not what we see them doing either. What we see them do is standing around on the metro platform, staring people down when they take their pictures. It’s pretty standard over the last week to see fully a dozen armed guardsmen on the way home from work, and they’re not gardening.

The vibes here are rancid, went to a friends apartment instead of happy hour this week, the occupation will reduce economic activity, but August 12-18 2024 is not a good week to compare this to.

Part of this is almost certainly that last year’s restaurant week was Aug 12-18 and this year it doesn’t start until August 18!
