I'm an optimist. I think they realize their work would then become carrying the water for the Administration and they would lose all autonomy. If their jobs are difficult now, they would become impossible, and the leaders would be hated on campus. No grants are worth that price.

I am proud of my heritage. And it is exhausting to live in a country where the leadership mocks your ethnicity on social media and the country’s military and ICE arrest US citizens with your ethnicity. Am in an airport and a woman just touched my hair and asked “what ARE you?” Sigh. I am tired. 1/2
